position summary:

Within ATR Engineering Directorate, Systems & Propulsion Engineering Department, the job holder is responsible for the Hydromechanical Systems Department.
The job holder leads and coordinates the team in charge of specification, development, integration, certification and support activities for systems within its perimeter:
  • ATA 25 – Crew seats
  • ATA 26 – Cabin fire protection
  • ATA 27 – Flight controls
  • ATA 29 – Hydraulic
  • ATA 32 – Landing gear, wheels and brakes
  • ATA 35 – Oxygen
  • ATA 52 – Doors actuation and monitoring

main responsabilities:

 The job holder ensures design responsibility and manages the team for its perimeter of activities:
  • Development of A/C systems modifications for production and legacy aircraft in accordance with ATR product policy :
  •             Preliminary studies / RFI / RFP
    • A/C modifications instruction
    • Selection and interface with supplier and partners including specification and Statement of Work activities, design reviews and documentation approval (FEE/EDES, DDP, QTP,…)
    • Definition of certification strategy and issuance of Certification Programme and associated Means of Compliance, discussions with Certification Authorities
    • Issuance of technical data to support Operational and Maintenance documentation update
  • Technology and regulation watch, research / innovation projects to adapt and develop technologies and skills in line with company strategy,
  • Support to Final Assembly Line through answers to “Anomalies de Montage/Litiges”, troubleshooting plans and approval of deviations to approved design through concession process
  • Investigation of in-service significant events, parts examination specification and attendance, participation to Airworthiness Review Meetings with Authorities.
  • Support to ICAO Annex 13 investigations, answers to Investigation Authorities queries and participation to examination, meeting with Authorities
  • Technical expertise to support other Engineering departments and ATR directorates in their respective missions (Procurement, Customer support, Marketing and Sales, Quality…)
  • Preparation of the yearly Operating Plan, budget follow-up, definition of the subcontracting strategy
  • HR processes implementation: recruitment, development interviews, objectives set-up, performance assessment, training plan,…

key skills / key personal attributes / experience required:

  • Engineering degree with a strong experience in A/C systems development and certification
  • The applicant will be able to demonstrate experience in several development projects including project follow-up and management activities as well as experience in team’s management
  • Good knowledge of A/C systems and associated disciplines (handling qualities, performance, structure,…). Knowledge of Hydromechanical Systems would be a plus
  • Good knowledge of A/C regulations (JAR/CS/FAR 25, Part 21,…), development processes and standards  (ARPs), qualification standards (DO)
  • General knowledges of production, support, procurement,… activities within an aircraft manufacturer
  • French, English, negotiation level
  • Leadership, good relationship skills, ability to communicate with various stakeholders (external: Authorities, Partners, Suppliers, Customers,… and internal : Production, Quality, Procurement, Customer Support…) and in a multi-cultural environment
