position summary:

Within ATR's Engineering Division, working as Head Of Certification, your mission will be to coordinate the activities of Certification including:
  • TC Changes Approvals;
  • Foreign Validations;
  • Individual certification and Industrial Impacts;
  • New Regulations watch.

main responsabilities:

 Your main missions will be:
  • Ensure the conformity of ATR Design Office output to applicable regulations;
  • Inform the Primary certification Authorities and Foreign Authorities (FA) about ATR program novelties and new projects; Coordinate and assure timely responses to authorities (EASA, FAA, ….) formal letters;
  • Participate to EASA audits and promote timely solution of findings;
  • Manage major projects such as bilateral agreements with FA and EASA;
  • Perform TC Validation projects with FA in Countries where ATR Model(s) is not certified;
  • Ensure the monitoring of new regulatory developments (Regulatory, Ops Watch);
  • Perform the analysis and synthesis of the regulation paragraphs applicable to a Modification dossier, identifying any risk or repercussion affecting the project;
  • Negotiate and agree with the Authorities the Certification basis and the relative Means of Compliance applicable to the TC Changes;
  • Coordinate internally and externally TC Changes activities for EASA or FA approval;
  • Submit to EASA and FA Major Changes Level1 for approval/ validation;
  • Classify Changes under DOA agreement (only if delegated by the HoA);
  • Approve Minor changes under DOA agreement (only if delegated by the HoA);
  • Validate TC c/o foreign Authorities;
  • Perform DO-PO analysis with Production Organization holders;
  • Approve the definition of the aircraft to be delivered within delivery schedules;
  • Monitor and control the evolution of the certification activities, until the approval of the Modification dossier, in agreement with the planning agreed with EASA, or with the foreign validation Authorities (FAA, TCCA); 

key skills / key personal attributes / experience required:

We are looking for candidates with the following experience and skills:
  • Master of Science in Aeronautical or Aerospace Engineering;
  • Proven experience within an aircraft design organization and in an Airworthiness management role;
  • Proven Certification experience of whole aircraft system, not only single components;
  • Familiarity with the Authorities organizations and strong skills in negotiating Certification dossiers;
  • Good knowledge of the DOA Process, especially the procedures relevant to the classification, compliance demonstration, certification and continued airworthiness process;
  • Very good knowledge of Part 21 (Part 21J especially), Part M & Part 145;
  • Very good knowledge of JAR 25, CS 25 and FAR 25 certification rules;
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, sense of organization and leadership;
  • English: negotiation level;
  • French / Italian: would be a plus.
