position summary:

Within the Structures Support Engineering Department, lead the Structures Daily Repairs Engineering Team responsible to ensure continuous structural repair support to customers.

main responsabilities:

 As Head of the Department, he/she will be responsible to:
  • Lead a large team of repair design engineers responsible to provide short term structural repair engineering support to customers (airlines and MRO service providers) all over the world
  • Organize the team and maintain a rotation roster to cover morning, evening and weekend shifts, in order to ensure support 7 days/week all throughout the year
  • Develop the skills and qualifications of team members
  • Ensure safe, timely, economical and consistent technical support in response to requests arriving from customers to address structural damage on in-service aircraft
  • Develop robust methods and procedures that will help the team treat requests in an efficient manner
  • Ensure that all members of the team utilize the applicable source data, company’s tools and databases to ensure consistency
  • Contribute to build ATR’s knowledge base for structures support activities
  • Communicate and liaise with customers and internal stakeholders from receipt of queries to their full resolution
  • Participate in the preparation and release of approval documents (such as Technical Adaptation, Structural Repair Approval Sheet) per existing DOA procedures
  • Monitor the team’s efficiency and performance closely, ensure continuous improvement by conducting root cause analysis and establishing corrective actions in case of deviations
  • Participate, if required, in on-site support missions at customer premises
This position requires frequent interactions with customers, Structural Data (ESD, stress office), Repair Drawing Team (ESSR), Fleet Support Team (ESSF) and other ATR departments (technical support, spares engineering, commercial, safety, quality, etc)

key skills / key personal attributes / experience required:

- Master’s degree (Bac +5) in aeronautical engineering or mechanical engineering.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in aircraft structural repair
- Technical skills:                                                                                    
  • Aircraft structural repairs design
  • Stress justification
  • Metallic & composite materials.
  • Non-destructive testing methods
- Language skills:
  • English (C1)
  • Any other languages will be a plus
- IT skills:
  • Microsoft Office
- Soft skills
  • Strong managerial skills
  • Can-do attitude and orientation towards continuous improvement
  • Strong orientation to customers
- Specific constraints:
  • Possible missions to provide on-site support to customer airline / MRO
  • Possible occasional participation in 7days/week rotations
