ATR involved in the region’s energy transition
ATR has become a partner in the DEMETER project (Metropolitan Demonstrator for Energy Transition and Reduction of Emissions in the Aeronautic Sector). The project brings together several local and regional institutions alongside key companies based in Toulouse. Its aim is to create a platform for collaborative exchanges for the implementation of various energy initiatives, thus implementing the LTECV (Law of Energy Transition for Green Growth) at the local level and aiming to reduce the energy consumption and the related polluting emissions. DEMETER is composed of four themes: mobility and sustainable planning, green growth, air pollution & climate change and circular economies.
Among the project’s different initiatives, ATR is working towards the development of a biofuels network in Toulouse (Biohub), the development of biodiversity, a collaborative project aiming to alleviate congestion around the airport, and the improvement of the dismantlement and rate of recycling of aircraft at the end of their life. ATR’s participation in the DEMETER project’s diverse initiatives highlights our desire to be a good example of social responsibility.
The Law of Energy Transition for Green Growth has several objectives: reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 40% in 2030 compared with those of 1990, reducing the use of fossil fuels by 30% in 2030 compared to 2012, or halving landfill waste by 2025.
